The Washington Monument

In most years, the mayor will flip the switch for the lights, followed by a firework show! The holiday lights then remain on the monument until after Christmas day.
Marquis de Lafayette Statue
Only a minute away from Waterloo Place, you can also see the statue of Marquis de Lafayette who was a Frenchman that helped General George Washington during the revolutionary. The statue was completed in 1924 and has several layers of history that it commemorated which you can read more about here.
The Walters Art Museum
Located down the street from Waterloo Place, is The Walters Art Museum which opened in 1934 and was originally called the Walters Art Gallery. It all started with a gift from collector and philanthropist Henry Walters. Take a trip there or learn more on their website!
The Peabody Library
One word: “Breathtaking!” When you step foot into the Peabody Library you are at a loss for words. With this library being right around the corner from Waterloo Place Apartments, you will always have an “Insta worthy” place to study. They even have weddings here because it is picture perfect! The Peabody Library was completed in 1878 and designed by Baltimore architect Edmund G and Nathaniel H. Morison that described it as a “cathedral of books”.
